Alex loves to ride his bike around the Truckee River and I like to join him occasionally. Most of the time I prefer to run next to river. In order for us to get to the Truckee River, we have to cross the train tracks. When there is no snow at times, it can look like a desert before reaching the river. During summer, we like to float the river and we have a really good time floating all the way to the end. When it is winter, we very rarely go down to the river. Though we find ourselves spending most of our time there during late summer and fall. Right now it is winter and I can't stop thinking about how much fun we had during summer and fall next to the Truckee River. It will not stop snowing and our front yard is 22 feet high (higher than our house) and our backyard has four levels being at least 30 feet high. We have been able to snowboard our backyard most of winter. I love the snow! I wouldn't be a competitive snowboarder if I didn't love it. Though, there are times when I think it would be nice to bike along the river, take a dip or have my golden retriever Kona go swimming with me. What can really be said is that I love Truckee no matter what the season is. Even though, I spend most of my time chasing the snow or waves, I find myself loving where I call home base. It doesn't matter where I am in the world, I really love Truckee. It is a great town with a lot of outdoor activities. I am blessed to train here for snowboarding and call Truckee my home.
