Aspen Banked Slalom 2016 March Recap

Aspen is a beautiful wonderful place that attracts snowboarders from all over the world!  Once you go there you see why!  I have never seen a more intense banked slalom course before in my life!  I LOVED IT so much!!  People kept saying that it is now the longest most challenging course in the United States.  I was blessed with an opportunity to do runs on that course.  It was awesome going through the very tight tree sections (very tight) with solid icy conditions and competing at an event where Gretchen Bleiler, Chris Klug and Laura Hadar were competing at.  Had a great time going through this challenging course.   It was my fourth slalom comp and third professional slalom comp.  Missed the podium finishing with 4th but was happy with my results!

Got to stay at a hotel in Basalt with this nice river view.  Was very pleased about my stay at this quiet hotel.

On my way to Basalt there was a snow storm and it was so pretty to see snow on Canadian Geese by the river.  Previously, I was driving on I70 and saw mountain goats with huge horns by the steep cliff section part of the highway near Hanging Lake area before Glenwood Springs.  It was awesome to go to Aspen!
